Rental Spaces

Rental Overview

The School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies's studio spaces are available to rent for rehearsals, workshops, auditions, meetings, conferences, and film and photoshoots. Our spaces are located on the University of Maryland, College Park campus within the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, with easy access to nearby parking and public transportation. Rental rates

• Standard Rental Rate - $25/hour
• TDPS Students and Alumni - $15/hour

Artists renting our space to rehearse for an upcoming performance are encouraged to inquire about a reduced rental rate.

Renters that are not affiliated with the University of Maryland must provide a Certificate of Insurance in order to rent our spaces. If you do not have access to business insurance, we can help you secure the liability insurance required at a low cost through the University's TULIP program. 

Theater studios

All theater rehearsal spaces feature a sprung, vinyl-surfaced floor, high ceilings, an upright piano, a full wall mirror which may be curtained and basic rehearsal props and furniture.

• Mulitz-Gudelsky Rehearsal Studio (Room 3730): 38’10” x 26’10” (1,042 sq. ft.) Rolling stereo system

• Schoenbaum Rehearsal Studio (Room 3732): 44’4” x 24’11” (1,105 sq. ft.) Ballet barres on one wall, built-in stereo system

• Rever Rehearsal Studio (Room 3736): 43’9” x 37’3” (1,636 sq. ft.) Built-in sound and projection system available for extra fee

Dance studios

All dance studios feature sprung floors, a piano and a built-in stereo system.

• Choreography Studio, Room 1611: 46’8” x 28’11” (1,349 sq. ft.) Bare wood floors, full wall mirror which may be curtained

• Dance Studio 1, Room 1908: 56’7” x 32’8” (1,848 sq. ft.) Vinyl flooring, ballet barres on three walls and 4 free standing barres, full wall mirror which may be curtained

• Dance Studio 2, Room 1912: 59’11” x 39’6” (2,366 sq. ft.) Vinyl flooring, ballet barres on one wall, full wall mirror which may be curtained

• Preinkert Dance Studio in Preinkert Field House, Room 2102: 53’10” x 33’3” x 9’6” high ceiling (1,789 sq ft) Vinyl flooring, ballet barres on three walls, sparse mirrors
