Congratulations to Professor Dan Conway on being awarded an Anderson Hopkins Award for Excellence in the Theater Arts!

"The Anderson-Hopkins Award for Excellence in the Theater Arts was presented for the first time on November 20 at Signature Theater to actors Naomi Jacobson, Nancy Robinette, and Holly Twyford, Set designer, Daniel Conway, and musical director Jon Kalbfleisch. The $5000 award recognizes actors and other members of the DC theater community whose creative lives demonstrate great accomplishment to date and promise for the future."

Professor Conway has designed over 100 plays produced here in Washington, D.C. beginning with his first professional production in 1988: Eugene O’Neill’s comedy, “Ah Wilderness” at the Studio Theatre. In 2017 his set for "Hand to God" at Studio Theatre earned him the 2017 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding set design; his fourteenth nomination and fourth award.
